Meet our Doctors
Dr. Sara Haus
Dr. Sara Haus completed her undergraduate studies at Penn State University in 2006. She then earned her VMD from the University of Pennsylvania in 2013. Following graduation, she lived and practiced in Wellsboro, PA until joining the team at Mt. Nittany Veterinary Hospital in April of 2018. Dr. Haus enjoys the varied caseload of general practice, but has special interests in surgery and dentistry.
When she is not practicing, she enjoys spending time outdoors, as well as exploring her creative side through painting and quilting. She shares her home with her husband, 2 dogs, 4 cats, and some fish.
Dr. Katie Kalp
Dr. Katie Kalp started her veterinary career at the Mt. Nittany Veterinary Hospital, working as a Veterinary Assistant during her undergraduate years at Penn State University. She graduated in December, 2002 with a double major in Biology and Animal Bioscience and then earned her DVM at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. Following graduation, she completed a one-year Small Animal Rotating Internship at the Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Greensboro, NC, before coming back to State College in 2008 to join the team at Mt. Nittany Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Kalp has interests in Internal Medicine and Neurology. When she’s not practicing, she’s a huge sports fan and particularly enjoys following baseball, college football, and hockey. She is also an avid reader. Dr. Kalp enjoys living in State College with her two dogs and two cats.
Dr. Danielle Forwood
Dr. Danielle Forwood graduated from Penn State University in 2012 with a degree and Veterinary & Biomedical Sciences. After a year of working as a veterinary assistant, she went on to attend veterinary school at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2017. She then returned to State College and worked at our sister practice, All Creatures Veterinary Care, for a year before transferring over to Mt. Nittany Veterinary Hospital in June of 2018. Dr. Forwood has special interests in pocket pet medicine, pain management, surgery, and preventative care. When she is not at work, she enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with her husband and their beloved beagle, Cody. Dr. Forwood also has two guinea pigs, Lucy and Darla.
Dr. Forwood is Fear-Free Certified.
