Dr. Thomas to Retire
The Mt. Nittany Veterinary Hospital would like to announce that Dr. John Thomas will be retiring from active practice after 40 years of providing veterinary services in State College and surrounding communities! Dr. Thomas graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1969, and has spent his entire career here at the Mt. Nittany Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Thomas has developed a well-deserved reputation as a caring and compassionate veterinarian in the community, and his skills and expertise have helped many pets and their owners over the years. There is no doubt that Dr. Thomas is truly “The Mt. Nittany Vet”, and we know that his departure will be felt both in the practice and in the community for many years to come.
As Dr. Thomas leaves the Mt. Nittany Veterinary Hospital to enjoy spending more time pursuing his other interests (and maybe even to relax a little), we hope you’ll join all of us in wishing him all the best in the years ahead!

Dr. Thomas,
You have been my vet for many many years now and I am sad to know that you are leaving. You are a wonderful vet and it will not be the same to come in to Mt Nittany and not see your smiling face. I hope that you enjoy your semi retirement and know that each and every one of your clients will miss you. Good luck to you and your family in the future.
Dr. Thomas,
Even though you are retiring from the practice, I was glad to read in the CDT that you plan on helping with the start -up of a Trap/Neuter/Release Program in Clearfield County. I was ECSTATIC to hear this news as it is badly needed here.
Currently there are three feral cats living outside around my home which I am watching over and for which I am providing outdoor shelters and food. It seems everyone I talk to has an abundance of cats living around their home, too.
Good luck and I hope to see you around as you work in this new endeavor.
